This project aims to have water wells in rural villages of ‘Uta Vava’u [main land] diesel based water pumping systems put off using solar powered based pumping systems [Solar Pump System – SPS]. In addition, all 20 remote island communities (Vava’u 11, and Ha’apai 9) be benefitted as well from solar powered freezer systems [Solar Freezer System – SFS]. The Department of Energy-MEIDECC has been looking at about 22 SPS units and about 40 SFS units to be covered under this PEC Fund Project, RRSPG.
